A Few Words
Empowerment
People around the world don’t have control over important choices that affect their lives, such as where they live, what ethnic they belong to, how they live, and how their governments rule them. Women and girls normally have less chance to have a say and participate actively in decision making especially when they want to ask for their rights. With current conflicts, the consequences of COVID19, the global economic crises, and the climate changes these issues are worsening. Green Orchard Global Organization works to include empowerment of women, young girls and other vulnerable groups to help alleviate their sufferings, advocate for their human and legal rights and improve their wellbeing whether at the time of interventions (short-term) or for the coming period (long-term).
A Few Words
Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC)
IDP and Refugee children, especially unaccompanied and separated children, require specialized support services upon arrival in safe places, which should include appropriate accommodation and look-a-like family-based care. This includes counselling, and assistance in accessing health, education and other services. Working with unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) has two dimensions: firstly, immediate efforts to prevent family separation, and secondly the care and response to children who are separated. This second stage also involves the tracing and reunification, of children with their families.
While international legal instruments provide an important legal framework for child protection, understanding national law and custom as it relates to separated children is also essential to establishing appropriate care and protection. Green Orchard Global Organization understands the laws and the social norms in Middle East and North Africa which enabled us to better address the needs of the unaccompanied and separated children (UASC).
